My Mid-Year Resolution
I am a very schedule-oriented person. I find having a calendar or a to-do list very useful for keeping on task and getting things done. So far, I have not had that for this blog. And it shows, given that I haven't posted in over a month.
With all that in mind, I'm making a rule for myself: on the first of every month, I must post something. It doesn't have to be long or polished, but it has to be there. I hope this will help me to get over myself and post at other times throughout the month as well. But at the very least, I will keep up a once-a-month posting schedule.
This post is also kind of a response to Morgan of Dungeonfruit's recent question. This resolution is a step (I hope) towards engaging with RPGs at a deeper level. I've spent a lot of probably too much time reading other people's posts. But I wasn't really evaluating their thoughts against my own to produce any deeper understanding. I was just going, "oh, that's neat I guess," saving the link, and moving on. So I guess I write for myself, for the sake of my own literacy, and because I do get a thrill from the idea of people spending time reading things I wrote. I'm a blogger now -- some amount of narcissism is required.
I have no clue how well this resolution will work or how long it will last. But I plan to give it my best shot, and hopefully something good will come out of it. I suppose we'll all just have to wait and see.
